In a world dominated by nouvelle cuisine, you are a cheeseburger and a basket of fries.

The formula for turning your hardworking bar band into a massively successful pop juggernaut goes like this: get a good-looking frontman, develop solid musical chops and then get the planets to align themselves exactly as they did for Huey Lewis and The News in 1983. That was the year that Huey and the boys rose to national fame on the strength of their multiplatinum album Sports, and not coincidentally, it was also the year that the Chrysler Corporation introduced the first minivan in the United States. The American love affair with both products began almost immediately, as the minivan and Huey Lewis both satisfied the increasingly practical demands of the baby-boom generation. What the boomers needed in their vehicles circa 1983 was ample storage space and room for five, and what they needed to compensate for the feelings of emasculation that came standard with those vehicles was a steady stream of straight-ahead, fist-pumping rock and roll that sounded good at a reasonable volume in their minivan's tape deck. Enter Huey Lewis, standard-bearer in the Reaganrock revolution and voice of a settled and prosperous generation whose official anthem he eventually provided with his 1986 hit Hip To Be Square. Like your Birthstar, your natural position in life is far away from the avant garde, so if that's the place you've set your sights, be aware of how far you'll have to travel.
